Baby Shower Favors~ from recycled baby food jars

ITS wonderful having a sister... especially when her baby is 5 months younger then yours... WHY? she saves the baby food jars for you... so you can use them as a baby shower favor.

She then brings them over and scrubs the jars inside and out. Rubbing her knuckles raw getting off all the stickies on the outside from the labels. She does this because she loves her big sister.... ME! love you Crystal so much. So my sis and I worked on these recycled baby food jars... a few weeks ago. I cut out a bunch of circles from the Platinum School book cartridge for my cricut, as well as flowers from the Accent Essentials cartridge. Then I got glueing, placing them on the lids, and filling them! SUPER EASY baby shower favor's... and I personally think DARLING TOO! I mean how cute is it to recycle baby food jars???? for a baby shower! I THINK WAY CUTE!!! OK' i really am not trying to brag or give myself credit.. just excited! The sis and I both agreed to show the "GERBER" name because its, after all.... A BABY FOOD JAR! I AM VERY EXCITED TO THROW MY FIRST BABY SHOWER APRIL 17th!
HERE are the tops!

Embelished paper hanging easter eggs

I made some embelished paper hanging easter eggs, to hang on my long shelf, and on my entry way mirror with hooks.

You will see that I have a HOW TO COLLAGE in here for ya!
and here they are all done! Aside from the Walmart stickers, I really used what I had, and dug around through my scrapbook embelishments. ;)
Then to finish them, I hole punched holes at the top, one on each side, and ran ribbon through them and tied knots. That was it!

Craft Day~ Paper flowers in a bucket!

Hi guys~ I crafted with my friend Jill this past Thursday... she sewed and I made these. If you remember my POST HERE the recycled baby food jars... turned into paper flowers. Then you can see that I made these flowers the same way. Only I added cute heart buttons I had with glue dots to the center, and little butterfly's I had too, with glue dots on the flower petals.

I got these buckets at Target in their dollar section. WHIPPIE!!! I new right away that they would go in my daughters room on her ledge, THAT HAS been ignored for to long. THEY WERE THE PERFECT COLORS for HER ROOM. YOU CAN SEE HER ROOM HERE!
I love the satin bows that were tied onto the buckets, they are on both sides.
up close shot of one!
AND THIS is where the paper flower buckets went. They are sitting with three cute Marie Osmond dolls my mom gave Bella for her "Garden themed room" these ARE JUST the kinds of critters you MAY see hanging out in your garden..... a caterpillar, butterfly, and bumblebee.
closer shot, right above her closet and her name!

isn't this doll so cute? I think all the dolls are, but this one especially!

Napkin Easter "Eggs" frame sign

This is fairly easy I picked up a black frame at Walmart for $5 bucks. Got home and got busy. I pulled out the paper pic. lining and laid down two napkins that were glue dotted together. Cut off any excess napkin. Flipped napkin over and used glue dots again to attach the letters to the napkin. I used the Lyrical Letters cartridge and had my handy dandy cricut cut the letters out. Placed it in place and shut the backing of the frame. DONE!
I DID GLAZE THE FRAME! and its also a new LOVE of mine to glaze. Just add a little water to a bowl with your paint colors (light green, and white for this project) then brush the glaze on the frame (remember my FRAME was all black originally) then wipe off glaze with paper towels. Continue the process until you get the look you are wanting.
Full shot for ya!

Decoupaged Easter letter "E"

I picked up the Wood "E" at Roberts Crafts. I am sure most craft stores carry un-finished wood letters. I wanted an "E" for Easter.. you can have it for Eggs too. Let me begin with the tutorial .....
First~ use your wood "E" and trace it out on a napkin with a pen. Just be careful while tracing and cutting, as you are working with a thin napkin! I traced and cut out an "E" twice, I wanted extra coverage on the wood!
It should look like this when you are done! JUST LIKE THE WOOD "E" Then you will paint MOD PODGE on the wood, then gently lay the napkin "E" over the wood and apply another coat of MOD PODGE over the napkin. LET DRY!
THEN cut off the excess napkin with scissors. Its really easy the wood letter acts as a straight guide while cutting, or snipping!
LET THE mod podge dry, and then paint the wood that is still exposed.. I chose white. I didn't paint the underneath or back.... but you can if you want.

Napkin decoupaged paper easter eggs

these are the supplies you will need. I found all my supplies minus the napkins at Roberts Crafts. The Napkins were from Target, in their Easter section. LET ME BEGIN~
coat your egg thoroughly with your  mod podge! like this!
just place napkin over the paper egg, and smooth it out rubbing it close to the egg. Gather the extra napkin at the bottom/underneath of the egg.
it should look like this once gathered.
then cut off the extra napkin you won't need. It helps to coat and cover the napkin much better.
Once you have thoroughly covered the egg, underneath included, it will look like this. TIP: you may want to wash or wipe your hands/fingers off between coatings because your fingers will stick to the napkins and you don't want them to tear. Also for the bottom of the egg, you will want to smooth it out real well, pushing air out and holding it down w/ your fingers. There is alot of napkin on the bottom so pushing it down, and smoothing it out helps add-here it all together.
then let them dry, they will harden real well. LOVE THEM!
You can embelish them more with ribbon and such. I used pastel colored rick rack from Walmart. I just decided on a design added glue and layed the rick rack over the glue, and let dry.
I displayed mine around my easter tree! the tree I got from Target 3 years ago, the easter ornaments my mom gave me some, and then I found even smaller ones at Michaels 3 years ago. I tied growgrain polka dot ribbon around some of the tree branches as well. I will be featuring my tree on LarsenLoves this Friday, (closer more detailed pics.) Thanks for stopping in!
